Legacy Lives On in Williston North Dakota as Baseball Season Honors Ardean Aafedt
The Williston Boys Baseball Committee has announced that the upcoming 2026 summer baseball season will be dedicated to the memory of longtime recreation supporter and community advocate Ardean Aafedt.

The Lasting Influence of Ardean Aafedt on Western North Dakota Baseball
Aafedt passed away earlier this spring on May 4, but his influence on youth athletics and recreation in Williston continues to be deeply felt throughout the community. According to the committee, Aafedt devoted more than 70 years to recreation and was widely recognized as one of the “founding fathers” of Babe Ruth Baseball in western North Dakota.
Throughout his lifetime, Aafedt’s passion for baseball and community involvement helped shape opportunities for generations of young athletes. His commitment to recreation and youth programs extended far beyond the baseball diamond, as he continually worked to create positive experiences for local families and children.
