I-94 Corridor Under Watch: Strong Tornadoes Possible from Bismarck to Fargo

The area of greatest concern includes communities along and near the I-94 corridor, stretching from Bismarck to Fargo. This zone is being watched especially closely for the potential of one or two strong tornadoes to develop later today. While tornadoes can’t be predicted with certainty, the atmosphere is showing the right ingredients for rotating storms capable of producing them.

Whether you're in a rural area or a larger city, now is the time to prepare. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts—through your phone, NOAA weather radio, or local media. Know your plan for shelter, especially if you live in a mobile home or an area without a basement. Even if tornadoes don’t develop in your immediate area, winds approaching 80 mph and large hail can still cause serious damage.

Stay safe, stay informed, and take this threat seriously.
