Survey Ranks Walmart As Least Favorite Grocery Store In The United States
Grocery stores are a place many of us visit often, and a new survey says the least favorite store in the US has a lot of locations here in North Dakota.
If you're going to frequent a store and spend your hard-earned money there, you would hope it would be one where you have a pleasant experience. But apparently, that is not the case for this grocery store chain. Because it just came in dead last in the latest annual ranking of American grocery chains from the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
Their annual survey is based on how satisfied survey respondents were with their recent shopping experiences at various national grocery store chains. And, according to Coupons In The News, we're fairly satisfied with our grocery stores. It said that in this year's survey, the 'grocery sector as a whole earned a score of 79 out of 100, up three points from last year and matched the score it earned way back in pre-Covid, pre-inflation 2018.'
Costco, H-E-B, and Publix topped the list this year with a score of 85 out of 100. Trader Joe's and Sam's Club were ranked 4th and 5th, respectively, this year, Coupons in the News said, while Target and Whole Foods tied for 6th, Aldi ranked 10th, and HyVee came in tied for 14th place.
But which store was the least favorite grocery store in the 2024 survey? Coupons in the News says that would be... Walmart. Even though its rating in the survey is up four points this year to 74 out of 100, Walmart's grocery section still came in ranked 20th overall, as it has for the previous 18 years in a row!
And Walmart has a lot of locations scattered across North Dakota, with 14 total, according to their website.
