Future Pilots and Fresh Donuts Await in Williston North Dakota
If you’ve been craving donuts and a little adventure, the Williston Composite Squadron has you covered. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the squadron is opening its doors for an open house and Krispy Kreme fundraiser. It’s the perfect blend of sugar and service, with events happening at two locations: the New Armory at 10 Main Street and Arnie’s Motorcycle Sales at 413 2nd St W in Williston.
More Than Donuts: Meet the Civil Air Patrol Making a Difference in Williston
This event is more than just an excuse to grab a dozen glazed donuts (although no one’s judging if you do). It’s a chance to meet the dedicated members of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, and learn how they’re making a difference right here in North Dakota. The Williston Composite Squadron is inviting everyone—youth ages 12 to 18, adults 18 and up, and anyone curious about aviation, leadership, and community service.

From Cadets to Community Heroes: Explore CAP’s Unique Opportunities in Williston
The CAP Cadet Program gives youth hands-on experience in aviation, space, and leadership training. Think of it as flight school meets character-building, minus the pressure of enlisting in the military. For adults, membership offers the opportunity to serve the community in meaningful ways—everything from disaster response to search-and-rescue missions. Plus, there’s mentorship, aerospace education, and even the possibility of flight training.

So, whether you’re a teen with dreams of piloting planes, an adult looking to give back, or simply someone with a sweet tooth, this open house is worth a visit. And with Krispy Kreme donuts on the table, you can fuel up while learning about the exciting work the squadron does.
As Capt. Joseph Aho, Williston Squadron Commander, puts it, “All are welcome!” So swing by, chat with the team, and maybe take home a dozen donuts (or two). After all, supporting your community never tasted so sweet.
