What To Expect At Williston's August 29 Family Machine Showcase

If your idea of a great Saturday involves helicopters flying overhead, giant machines making a whole lot of noise, police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, big rigs, free food and kids having the time of their lives, you're going to want to make plans for this one.

Williston's Biggest Free Family Event is coming up tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 13267 56th St NW, and it looks like there will be plenty to see, hear and experience.

Hosted by Extreme Machines and Williston Kids First, the event promises a little bit of everything, and best of all, admission is free.

Bring the Kids, Bring Your Camera

One of the biggest attractions will be the helicopters.

Organizers are expecting at least three or four helicopters to make an appearance, which should be enough to get just about any kid, young or old, looking up at the sky.

And if helicopters aren't quite exciting enough, there will be plenty of other big machines on hand.

Fire trucks, police vehicles, ambulances, big rigs and heavy construction equipment will all be part of the event. It's a chance for kids to get an up-close look at some of the machines and equipment they may normally only see from a distance.

And then there's the car crushing.

Yep. You read that right.

There will be car-crushing action as part of the festivities, which should provide plenty of entertainment and probably a few wide-eyed reactions from the younger crowd.

Free Food and Free Fun

The event isn't just about looking at big machines, either.

According to the event poster, there will be free food and free activities, making this an easy family outing without having to worry about admission fees or keeping the kids entertained once you arrive.

It's the kind of event where you can wander around, check out the equipment, watch the action, grab something to eat and let the kids burn off some energy.

And if you have a child who thinks anything with wheels, wings, lights or a really loud engine is the greatest thing ever invented, well, this may be their Saturday.

So mark the calendar for tomorrow (Saturday, August 29) and head out between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
