They looked at search data from the past five years, just for the month of October, to find the most popular Halloween candy in every state. They even surveyed 1,000 parents of kids ages 5 to 13 to get a better idea of how trick-or-treating looks in today’s world.

Turns out, candy says a lot about who we are. From the treats people crave to how neighborhoods celebrate, this candy census shows how we’re all keeping the Halloween spirit alive and well!
