Williston Youths Created Hit List Targeting WHS Students
On April 1st, the Williston Basin School District #7 Administration was notified of a hit list that comprised mostly or entirely of students.
Per a release that was sent to only parents, guardians, and staff, the administration believes that two WHS students and one homeschooled student were the authors of the hit list.
The administration contacted law enforcement, who is currently managing the situation.
The status of the individuals who planned to enact their plan, how far they were in their planning process, or the methods they intended to carry out the hit list has not been confirmed.
Parents and/or guardians of students whose names appeared on the list have been contacted by the school.
KEYZ has reached out to both the Williston Police Department and Williston Basin School District #7 for comment.
Williston Basin School District #7 did send a copy of the message that it sent to parents, guardians, and staff on the incident.
The Williston Police Department declined to comment as it remains an ongoing investigation involving juveniles. The department did express appreciation of the public's understanding and patience during the process.
As of the time of reporting, neither entity has published posts on social media.

Due to the involvement of minors and in accordance with responsible reporting practices, no names will be released in any future updates.
This story has been edited to more accurately reflect that parents, guardians, and WBSD #7 staff all received the memo from the school district, as well as to reflect that the district sent a copy of the memo to KEYZ when asked for comment.
