Williston Roadwork Update: West Broadway Reopening Next Week
After a busy construction season around downtown Williston, drivers are finally getting some good news.
Weather permitting, West Broadway is scheduled to reopen Monday, October 5, 2026, as work on the reconstruction project between Main Street and 2nd Avenue West moves toward completion.
The reopening will be a welcome change for motorists who have dealt with construction, traffic changes, and delays in the downtown area throughout the summer.

More Work Is Still Ahead
While West Broadway is scheduled to reopen, the project isn't completely finished.
Road striping is scheduled to begin the following week on Monday, October 12.
Drivers are being asked to use caution when traveling through the area, as the roadway will be open for approximately one week before striping begins. Construction activity and changing conditions can still create hazards, so motorists should remain alert and follow any posted signs or traffic directions.

Downtown Parking Lots to Be Paved
Beginning Monday, October 5, weather permitting, paving work is also scheduled to begin at several public parking lots in downtown Williston.

The affected lots include:
- Great Northern Lot (North lot)
- City Hall Lot
- Gate City Bank Lot (South lot)
Anyone who regularly uses these lots should be prepared for changes and possible disruptions as the paving work gets underway.
The Finish Line Is in Sight
The West Broadway project is part of a busy season of city construction projects around Williston. While there is still work to be completed, the reopening of the roadway marks a significant step toward wrapping things up.
Weather could affect the schedule, so drivers should continue to watch for updates and use caution around active work areas.
For now, the plan is for West Broadway to reopen October 5, with road striping beginning October 12 and paving work starting on several downtown parking lots.
