2022 Polar Plunge

Things have moved to the Williston Fairgrounds this year, and the day starts at 11:00 am with the live auction. I have seen several pages of items up for sale too. There are gift baskets, gift cards, a golf package, diamond earrings and more. I know of 2 cars up for auction donated by Williston Auto and Red Rock Ford. I know they are planning on a smash car you can take a swing or two at as well!

2022 Polar Plunge

Plungers raise a minimum of $100 for the opportunity to take the plunge. Form a team, and create a fun name and crazy costumes with friends, co-workers, or classmates.  No matter what, the Polar Plunge is all about Fun!

Plungers have the opportunity to compete for the following awards. This always makes the day just a bit better. The thoughts and creative ideas they come up with are something people talk about for most of the year!

  • Best Costume
  • Best Belly Flop
  • Youngest Plunger
  • Oldest Plunger
  • Most Money Raised by an Individual
  • Most Money Raised by Team

There will be food, activities, ad entertainment for the whole family. Squad cars, swat, and other vehicles will be on display, so bring the kids for a fun afternoon. Dress accordingly. As of publishing time, it looks to be cloudy, breezy, and 43 degrees. It needs to acknowledge that Williston Police Department is the driving force behind this event. Heather Cook with WPD stressed that all first responders in Williston are helping with the polar plunge. She made sure to thank the Williams County Sheriff's Department, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williston Fire Department, Williams County Dive Team, and Williams County Emergency Management during our conversation.

Thanks to all the sponsors backing this great community event. None of this happens without your support. Thanks to the volunteers for organizing a great event, and to everyone donating funds. This is another example of why this community is as special as it is. If you want more information or would like to donate, please click here.
