Williston is seeing new businesses open their doors, while others are already on the horizon. But that got us thinking about a question that can always get a conversation started:

What business would you like to see come to Williston?

So we asked on our station Facebook page, and, well, you did not disappoint.

The comments came pouring in with suggestions ranging from big box stores and restaurants to family entertainment and specialty shops.

Costco, Sam’s Club and Plenty of Shopping

If there was one theme that kept popping up, it was shopping.

Costco and Sam’s Club were mentioned again and again, along with stores such as Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Scheels, Ross, Old Navy, Trader Joe’s and Aldi. Some people even suggested a mall or larger shopping plaza.

There were also requests for stores that could fill some specific shopping gaps, including shoe stores, craft stores, home goods and grocery options.

Restaurants and Things to Do

Food was another big part of the conversation.

People suggested everything from Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse and Panera to seafood restaurants, Italian food, ramen and even pasta.

But It Wasn't All About Eating

Several people said they would like more places where families, teenagers and adults can simply spend time together. Suggestions included mini golf, escape rooms, laser tag, indoor entertainment centers, roller rinks, drive in theaters, rock climbing and other activities.

And perhaps the most interesting part of the conversation is that not everyone was looking for another restaurant or arcade. Some commenters specifically asked for more experiences and public gathering places.

With so many ideas, one thing is clear: Williston residents have plenty of thoughts about what they would like to see next.

Now the question is, what would you add to the list?
