Traffic Change Alert: New Intersection Setup at 16th Ave W & Sandcreek Dr

In an effort to improve both traffic flow and safety, the City of Williston has announced a significant change at the intersection of 16th Avenue West and Sandcreek Drive. Starting on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, this intersection will switch from a 4-way stop to a non-stop through street on 16th Ave W.

Here’s what this change entails:

• Continuous North-South Traffic on 16th Ave W: Vehicles traveling along 16th Ave W will now have a continuous, non-stop route. They will no longer need to stop at Sandcreek Dr or 18th St, allowing for smoother traffic flow on this main thoroughfare.
• Stop Signs for Cross Streets: Vehicles approaching from Sandcreek Dr or 18th St must stop at the intersection and yield to traffic moving along 16th Ave W. This change means drivers on these side streets will need to wait for a safe gap before entering or crossing 16th Ave.
• Increased Caution Needed: Drivers entering or crossing 16th Ave W should use extra caution, as cross-traffic will not be stopping.
