Results are in from Williston’s Polar Plunge
Saturday, April 1st was the day people did something crazy for a great cause. Many took the polar plunge for Special Olympics! The Williston Police Department lead the charge with the fun community event at the Williston fairgrounds for a day of fun and fundraising. It was a perfect, sunny day.
Plungers raised a minimum of $100 for the opportunity to take the plunge. Some formed a team, and created a fun name. Some wore crazy costumes with family, friends, co-workers, or classmates. No matter what, all participants had fun at the Polar Plunge-which is what it's all about-fun!
Plungers competed for the following awards. This always makes the day just a bit better. The thoughts and creative ideas they come up with are something people talk about for most of the year!
Best Belly Flop: Everhett Ziebarth
Most Money Raised by an Individual: Rowan Horswill
Most Money Raised by Team: Williston Police Department
The day started at 11:00 am with the live auction. There were gift baskets, gift cards, a golf package, a tattoo session, diamond earrings, 2 cars donated by Williston Auto and Red Rock Ford and more.
