Montana And North Dakota Hospital Report Cards
Many people believe that hospitals are secure havens where they can recuperate and find solace when they're ill or injured. But for a lot of people, the idea of being locked up behind the immaculate hospital walls can be frightening and full of doubt and fear.
Nonetheless, patients shouldn't be most worried about their safety out of all of these concerns.
Any healthcare facility's first responsibility is to ensure the patients' well-being, which includes establishing a safe environment. When a patient is admitted to a hospital, they entrust the surrounding facilities and medical staff with their care.
Patients expect to be well taken care of and to heal without unnecessary risk or harm.
According to recent data from Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, certain medical facilities in the area perform exceptionally well, while others at most do merely ok.
Five primary criteria are used to grade hospitals, and these criteria are then divided into a number of more specialized subsections.
The following are the primary grading criteria: infections, surgical problems, safety issues, error prevention techniques, and physicians, nurses, and hospital personnel.
Marks for below average, average, and above average are given in the respective subsections; hospitals are able to choose not to submit ratings for any subsection in order to "potentially avoid errors."
Then, hospitals receive a letter grade ranging from A to F, exactly like students.
Seven hospitals in North Dakota were ranked; none of them got an A letter grade. The bottom three states in the country are North Dakota, Wyoming, and Alaska, which were also the lowest three in 2019 rankings.
