As the summer season winds down, we are working outside more, and even enjoying picnics. We find ourselves working in the garage, cleaning out flower beds, and enjoying the nice weather. And then you hear it. BUZZ, BUZZ! Here come the hornets! They are bad this year, and it seems like they're out in full force earlier than usual!

I was at the station the other day and found this crew hard at work building a nest. It was a small one, but the saying held true...big things come in little packages!

I was telling Penny, our Office Manager about our new tenants, and she suggested a concoction to get rid of them for good. This is good for our situation or outdoor activities. Try this now. You'll thank Penny later!
Half cup of apple cider vinegar, half cup or sugar, half cup of water, and 3 or 4 drops of dish soap. Stir to dissolve sugar, pour into disposable bowls, and set around the area you plan to be in. As you can see, these fierce little monsters love the mixture and are dying to try it.

If you're gathering in the yard for a BBQ this weekend, this is a great idea to reduce the hornets wreaking havoc on your event. It won't take care of them all, but it will make things more pleasant. And you will not be spilling your favorite beverage trying to swat them away either!
