Williston Residents Speak Out: Most Hated Intersections Revealed In Poll
The Worst Intersections in Williston: A Facebook Poll Reveals All
In a recent poll on our 660 KEYZ News Radio Facebook page, we posed a question that resonated deeply with the people of Williston and western North Dakota: "What is the worst intersection in our area?"
The responses came pouring in, and it quickly became clear which intersections are giving locals the most grief.
Topping the list, with an overwhelming majority of votes, was the notorious intersection of 16th Ave. and 26th Street. This intersection, which many people have described as a maze of confusion and congestion, seems to bring out the worst in traffic jams and driver annoyance. One commenter humorously noted, "It’s the worst 4-way stop in Williston – enter at your own risk!" I agree with this response!
Close on its heels was the intersection of 11th Street West & West Dakota Parkway. This junction has a reputation for being a bottleneck, especially during peak hours. A local driver shared, "Trying to navigate this intersection at rush hour is like playing a game of Frogger, but less fun and more nerve-wracking."
And let's not forget the infamous 13 Mile Corner north of Williston. This intersection, where highways converge seemingly randomly, has been the subject of many a driver's rant. One Facebook user quipped, "It's a miracle if you make it through without feeling like you just dodged a dozen potholes and three rogue semis."
The lively discussion on our Facebook page highlighted not just the frustration but also the sense of humor that Williston residents have about their daily driving adventures. While we all dream of smoother commutes and safer roads, it’s clear that these intersections have earned their place in local lore.
Until the city planners work their magic, we’ll keep sharing our stories and hoping for green lights. So, next time you find yourself at one of these infamous intersections, take a deep breath, stay patient, and remember—you're not alone in the struggle!
