Wanted Suspect Surrenders After Police Standoff In Williston
A call from a frightened juvenile on Saturday led Williston police to a home where officers say they uncovered drugs, firearms and a wanted suspect hiding in the basement.
The incident began around 2:49 p.m. when police received a report that a juvenile had been chased by people in a black SUV, according to the Williston Police Department. Investigators traced the report to a residence in the 100 block of 11th Street East.
When officers arrived, a woman at the home told them several people were inside and admitted narcotics were present. Two other occupants then informed officers that a man with outstanding warrants was hiding in the basement near an unlocked gun cabinet containing firearms.
Police attempted to call the man out but backed off after he refused, citing safety concerns over the unsecured weapons. A perimeter was set up, and after repeated announcements, the suspect surrendered.
Authorities later obtained a search warrant and say they found a lever-action rifle under the bed where the man had been hiding, along with drug paraphernalia scattered throughout the residence.
Three people were arrested:
Malachi Cloke, 19, was arrested for active warrants and for obstructing a government function.
Michael Thompson, 48, on warrants and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia.
Camilla Talksdifferent, 36, is being held on possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia.
The case is still under investigation, and the police stated that additional charges may be filed. The Williams County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

We will provide more information on the case as it becomes available from the Williston Police Department.
