Exciting Changes Coming To Williston Golf Course Starting Next Spring
The Williston Municipal Golf Course is set for a major transformation, as construction will begin in spring 2026 to expand the facility from nine to 18 holes. The project marks a significant investment by the Williston Parks and Recreation District (WPRD) to enhance recreational offerings and modernize the popular community course.
Golfers will be able to play through the summer of 2026, with the course officially closing on Sept. 8 to allow for full-scale construction. All 2026 memberships will be prorated to reflect the early closure.
After evaluating several options, WPRD officials concluded that remaining open during construction would not be practical or cost-effective. By pausing operations for the 2027 season, the district can focus on delivering a high-quality course through efficient construction practices and the use of specialized crews. The project is scheduled for completion in 2028.
In addition to a redesigned 18-hole layout, the expansion will include a new, state-of-the-art clubhouse that aims to elevate the overall golfing experience while showcasing the natural beauty of the Williston area.
“A well-designed and well-built course is vital for our community. At WPRD, we take this investment seriously,” said Joe Barsh, Executive Director of WPRD. “Our priority is the long-term sustainability of the Golf Course, extending beyond golf itself. We are committed to quality construction and sustainable resources, and no shortcuts will be taken,”.”

WPRD plans to keep the community informed with regular updates throughout the process.
This development is expected to position the Williston Municipal Golf Course as a premier destination for both local and regional golfers.
