Accredited Status Shines A Light On Williston’s Growth
The City of Williston Economic Development has been reaccredited by the International Economic Development Council as an Accredited Economic Development Organization, officials announced.
Williston is among 93 organizations nationwide holding the designation. The city’s economic development office was originally accredited in December 2018 and earned reaccreditation following seven years of continued activity and review.
“The City of Williston Economic Development displays the professionalism, commitment and technical expertise that is deserving of this honor,” IEDC President and CEO Nathan Ohle said in a statement.
The AEDO program uses a comprehensive peer review process to evaluate economic development organizations against professional standards. The process includes a documentation review and an onsite visit examining an organization’s structure, funding, programs and staff.
Williston Economic Development Director Anna Nelson said the recognition reflects the organization’s commitment to excellence and progress.
Maintenance of AEDO status is required every three years through documentation submissions and onsite evaluations.

IEDC is the world’s largest association serving economic and community development professionals, representing more than 5,000 members worldwide.
