Williams County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Epping Man on Murder, Terrorizing Charges

Williston, ND (KEYZ) An Epping man was arrested Sunday and is being held on murder charges stemming from a shooting in rural Williams County.

Upon arrival on the scene on June 19, 2022, deputies with the William's County Sheriff's Office found 25-year-old Leslie Lyon, from Wisconsin, dead of an apparent gunshot wound.  Fifty-eight  year old David Handeland, from Epping, was subsequently taken into custody and is currently being held in the Williams County Correctional Center on charges of Murder, a class AA Felony, and Terrorizing, a class C Felony.

Law enforcement officials say the investigation is ongoing and no additional details will be provided.
