Well, folks, the ballots have been counted, the signs are slowly coming down, and it’s official – the election is over. But there’s something here that we can all celebrate: North Dakota showed up in a big way this election season!
North Dakotans Show Impressive Voter Turnout with 62% Casting Ballots
The turnout numbers are in, and they're impressive! According to the North Dakota Secretary of State's office, a whopping 371,510 of us cast our ballots out of 594,140 eligible voters. That’s 62% of the state! As residents of the Peace Garden State, we’ve set a standard of civic pride that’s nothing short of inspiring. When it comes to doing our democratic duty, North Dakotans don’t mess around.
The Unsung Heroes of Election Day: Poll Workers and Volunteers Make It Happen
But let’s give credit where credit is really due. Behind every voter, there’s a small army of people who make election day possible. Take Williams County, for example. They had 62 dedicated poll workers, plus seven election workers prepping in the days leading up to the big day. And get this: there were even 19 student and teacher volunteers pitching in at the polls! Paid or not, these folks gave up their time to ensure that our election process ran smoothly. To each of them, we say a big, hearty thank you!
These are the unsung heroes of democracy, the people who helped ensure our voices were heard. So, here’s to the people who kept things moving at the polls, and here’s to every North Dakotan who took the time to cast their vote. It’s moments like these that remind us just how much we can accomplish together, one vote at a time.
