North Dakota Hobby Lobby Pulls “Certain” Holiday Decorations
You might not find what you're looking for at Hobby Lobby in North Dakota if you're expecting to find decorations for some holidays other than Christmas.
What Reasons Were Given For The Pulled Decorations At ND's Hobby Lobby's?
Certain holiday decorations that Hobby Lobby removed have upset some customers, and some consumer advocacy groups have criticized the retailer for the move.
Holiday decorations for Hanukkah, Halloween, and Mardi Gras have been taken down.
Some customers are upset that the Hanukkah decorations were taken down; they think that the removal of the decorations may have something to do with the Christian owners of Hobby Lobby.
After some research, Snopes.com found that the decorations had been discontinued the previous year and that news reports claiming that 2023 would be the first year the company had not stocked the decorations were false.
Other articles claim that Hobby Lobby has stated publicly that its inventory is always changing and that the decision to remove the decorations was made due to a lack of interest.
"The decision on what to offer our customers are based on many factors, including customer interest and what sells well. Our seasonal merchandise assortment carried at Hobby Lobby is constantly changing, and they evaluate it annually. Due to the need to find additional space for some of our stronger categories as well as our newer ones, the decision was made over the last couple of years to discontinue several seasonal product lines, including Mardi Gras, Halloween and Hanukkah."
Therefore, you might be out of luck if you were hoping to find decorations for Halloween, Mardi Gras, and Hanukkah at Hobby Lobby in the future.
