North Dakota is switching things up with a sleek new option for vehicle owners: blackout license plates. While the iconic blue sky and plains design will remain the standard, starting August 1, residents will be able to opt for this bold, black design to give their ride a little extra attitude.

Blackout plates have gained popularity across the country, and North Dakota is now joining in. States like Minnesota and Iowa have seen overwhelming demand for these plates, and the trend has caught on with vehicle enthusiasts who like to stand out.
