A Williston Woman has been charged in 1.4 million copper theft
Local authorities have charged Jonna Stroh with felony theft after she allegedly stole approximately $1.4 million of copper wiring from her employer Dakota Supply Group. According to court documents, Stroh knowingly took the copper wiring with intent to deprive the owner between July and August of 2024. With copper prices at the time of her March 11th arrest, it is estimated that Stroh allegedly stole upwards of 280,000 pounds of copper.

Police reports indicate that on October 7, 2024, Stroh allegedly wrote a note to Dakota Supply Group admitting to the theft of the copper wiring starting in July of 2024. She claimed she had been involved in a cryptocurrency scam and that was the reason behind taking the materials.
With the value of the stolen property significantly exceeding $50,000, she has been charged with a Class A felony. Stroh’s arraignment is scheduled for April 2nd, and a jury trial is scheduled for July 7th, 2025.
