A dangerous fugitive is on the run in Williams county after evading police most of Thursday after police responded to a call of domestic violence in Williston.

Local Law enforcement are asking for your assistance in help bringing in the fugitive, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Two female victims were identified during the investigation. The identities and status of the victims are not being released at this time.

Update: 4:32 PM 9/29/2022

The Williston Police Department responded to the 2400 block of 37th Place for a report of a domestic violence incident on September 29th, 2022 at approximately 3:40am.

The suspect, Leonard Barton Higdon Jr, fled the scene and was involved in a multi-agency vehicle pursuit.

Higdon’s vehicle was recovered in the 5900 block of Highway 85 north of Williston. Higdon fled on foot and was unable to be located at that time.

Members of the Williston Police Department and the Williams County Sheriff’s Office were able to identify a possible location of Higdon.

With efforts from the Williams County Sheriff’s Office and the Williams County SWAT team, a search warrant was executed at a rural location within Williams County, ND. Despite the efforts of multiple agencies, Higdon is still at large.

Higdon is believed to be armed and dangerous.  Local Law Enforcement is asking the public’s assistance with any information on a possible location of Higdon.

If you see Higdon, do not approach him.
