Williston’s Mosquito Spraying Set to Begin on May 26

We have all been outside enjoying the beautiful weather while working in our respective yards. Even while they haven't been too bothersome, the mosquitoes are nevertheless making their presence felt.

The Williston Vector Control District is planning to undertake an aerial adulticide treatment for all Williston spray blocks between Friday, May 26, and Sunday, May 28, according to the tentative schedule that was just released. The treatment is scheduled to take place close to sundown, provided that the weather and conditions are favorable. This page will be updated with any new information.
Zenivex E20, which contains the active component Etofenprox, is the adulticide of choice for mosquito control treatments (adulticides) used by Williston Vector Control. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has given its blessing for the use of Zenivex E20 in private homes and other residential settings.

When going outside between the hours of dark and dawn, residents should take extra safety measures to protect themselves from being bitten by mosquitoes. These hours are considered prime mosquito breeding times. To lessen the likelihood of getting bitten by mosquitoes, it is best to take precautions such as covering up with long sleeves and pants made of a tight-knit fabric, minimizing your time spent outside during peak biting hours, and applying an insect repellent containing DEET, Picardin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus. Remember, you play a key role in keeping these pests at bay as well...you can look around your property and get rid of standing water.
