Williston Man Faces Felony Charges In Vehicle Theft Spree
A Williston man has been charged in connection with a series of vehicle thefts that took place throughout the city in recent months.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Gage Lee Cox is accused of stealing three vehicles between September and October, including a 2022 Dodge Ram valued at roughly $35,000, a 2015 Toyota RAV4, and a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox owned by KUMV-TV.
Investigators with the Williston Police Department say Cox was identified through security footage and prior encounters with law enforcement. The vehicles were reported stolen from various locations in Williston, and police allege Cox moved them across town or abandoned them after use.
Cox faces two Class B felonies and a Class C Felony involving theft of the vehicles. The most serious charges carry potential prison sentences of up to 10 years and fines of up to $20,000.
Authorities say the investigation began after a series of reports describing missing vehicles in residential and commercial areas, including one theft captured on surveillance video. Police say Cox was later connected to the crimes through witness statements and additional video evidence.

Cox is currently being held in the Williams County Correctional Center.
No injuries were reported in connection with the thefts, and all vehicles have since been recovered, according to police.
