Williston Man Faces Serious Charges In Child Assault Case
A Williston man has been charged with multiple counts of gross sexual imposition, accused of repeatedly assaulting a minor over a period of more than a year, according to court documents filed this week.
Edras Fernando Fuentes Perez, 39, faces seven felony charges, including five Class AA felonies, the most serious level under North Dakota law. Perez faces charges from alleged incidents that occurred between June 2024 and October 2025.
The Williston Police Department received a report concerning a 13-year-old girl, referred to in court documents as Jane Doe, resulting in a subsequent investigation.
According to the affidavit, Fuentes Perez allegedly engaged in multiple sexual acts with Jane Doe over a period of months.
The complaint lists numerous incidents that reportedly took place in the girl’s home and at other locations in the City of Williston.
Court documents indicate that the defendant allegedly used coercion and force, including restraining the victim, to carry out the acts.
Charges include seven counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, a Class AA felony. Charges 1-4 carry mandatory minimum sentences of 20 years in prison, lifetime supervised probation, and registration as a sexual offender for at least 15 years. Felony counts carry mandatory minimums of five years in prison and sex offender registration.
Fuentes Perez was taken into custody by local authorities and remains in the Williams County Correctional Center. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in the Northwest Judicial District Court. Prosecutors said the case is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the investigation to contact the Williston Police Department.
