The Williams County Board of County Commissioners has approved the 2026 Tourism Grant Program, continuing an initiative aimed at supporting projects and events that attract visitors to Williams County.

The upcoming cycle marks the sixth round of awards under the program. In previous years, grant funding has been awarded for improvements and additions to tourism facilities and for community events that draw regional and out of state visitors.

A total of 100,000 dollars from the Williams County Visitor Promotion Fund will be made available for the 2026 grant cycle. The funding is intended to support capital projects, special events and advertising initiatives that enhance tourism opportunities throughout the county.

Eligible applicants include government or public entities, private nonprofit organizations, clubs and associations, as well as private for profit businesses and corporations. All applications must be related to supporting, increasing or enhancing tourism within Williams County.

To qualify, projects must be located, or events must take place, outside the city limits of Williston but within Williams County boundaries. Grant funds may cover up to 80 percent of approved project expenses. A 20 percent match is required from all grant recipients. Matching funds may come from cash or other eligible sources as outlined in the application guidelines.

Applications for the 2026 Tourism Grant Program will open at 9 a.m. Central Standard Time on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026. Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Central Standard Time on Friday, April 3, 2026. Application materials will be made available on the Williams County website.
