Welcome Back to School, North Dakota! Let’s Make This Year Shine For Everyone
As the summer days wane and the crisp air of fall begins to creep in, it's that time again—time for students across North Dakota to head back to school. The excitement of new classes, fresh school supplies, and reconnecting with friends is in the air. But amidst all the hustle and bustle, there’s something important to remember.
I recently stumbled upon a post on Facebook that really struck a chord and felt too valuable not to share. It’s a simple message with a powerful impact:
To all students returning to school, if you see another student struggling to make friends, being picked on, or looking a bit lost, be a leader, and set a better example. If you spot someone new, shy, or not part of the usual crowd, or if you see someone eating lunch alone—take a moment to reach out. Say hello, flash them a warm smile, or ask if you can sit with them. Including them could make all the difference in their day or even their entire school experience.
Parents, this message is for you too! Please, take a moment to share this with your child. Encourage them to be kind, to be inclusive, and to look out for their peers. We all want this school year to be great, but for it to be truly successful, it should be a great year for everyone.
So, as you grab your backpacks and head to class, remember that small gestures can lead to big changes. Let’s make this school year one where kindness leads the way and where every student feels they belong. Here’s to a fantastic school year, North Dakota! Let’s make it one to remember for all the right reasons.
