Williston, ND (KEYZ) Despite the cold hard fact that in excess of 8,000 children die every day from starvation around the world, one man continues to bring his sunny disposition and his bountiful love of God to promoting Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Events.  Public Relations Captain for the Williston MobilePack Event Randy Schlossin is once again making the rounds stumping for volunteers and financial donations for the 2022 event coming up in October.

First, what is a MobilePack Event?

Supported and facilitated by the Christian non-profit organization Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), MobilePack Events take place at the local level where teams of people come together to pack the meals that will be shipped to areas around the globe where children go hungry for want of a meal.

Feed My Starving Children is an organization "committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit" and has created an easy four-step process to accomplish their mission:

  • People just like you donate funds for the meal ingredients.
  • Volunteers hand-pack the meals.
  • Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world.
  • Kids are fed and lives are saved!¹

Williston Trinity Christian School to host Third Annual FMSC MobilePack Event

Schlossin says this is Williston's third year hosting an FMSC mobilepack event, and organizers have set a very big goal this time around.

"Our goal is to provide 500,000 meals to be packed to go to the Ukraine for the crisis that's there for Feed My Starving Children," said Schlossin.

"We're reaching out to everybody.  Two hours of your time to pack meals that are gonna go over to Ukraine, and your hands will be the last hands that touched them before they reach their destination.  We're excited.  This is an awesome opportunity to give back and for everybody to be able to participate."

The Feed My Starving Children Williston MobilePack Event is October 27th through the 29th, and there are several sessions from which to choose (see below):

1,000 volunteers needed!

Schlossin tells News Radio many hands are needed to reach the ambitious goal of packing 500,000 meals, and he's armed with suggestions of who might consider "stepping up to the plate" to be part of the October effort.

"The neat thing about North Dakota in state law it says that every student before they can graduate [has] to put in 100 hours of community service, and the two hours of your time that you contribute there counts toward those volunteer hours.  It's an interesting opportunity for the children to get involved and give back."

Schlossin added that participating in a mobilepack event is also great for families. "It's the best two hours of the whole year you're ever gonna spend giving back and congregating around a table and having a blast in the process."

A testament to having FUN while giving back . . . even in hairnets!
