Twin Day, Chili & Cinnamon Rolls, and a Whole Lot of Eagle Spirit

Things continue on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with Twin Day, where students paired up with their besties (or maybe even their teachers) for some double-trouble fashion. That evening, the Booster Club rolled out a cozy classic: a chili feed with cinnamon rolls in the SHS main hallway. Because honestly, is there anything more Montana than chili and cinnamon rolls? Proceeds from the feed go right back to supporting SHS students, which makes every bite taste even better. Later that night, the spotlight shifted to the coronation in the high school gym, where the homecoming royalty was introduced and the new king and queen crowned. To top it all off, there was even a FOOTERS sub-eating contest—because nothing says school spirit quite like racing to demolish a sandwich the size of your forearm.

On Thursday, Sept. 25, it's time for Eagle Pride Day. The energy really takes flight at the all-district pep assembly in the gym, followed by the parade rolling down Central from 8th Street to Main. Students, athletes, and alumni can fill the streets, with cheers and the school song echoing downtown. That afternoon, fans can come to the SHS gym for volleyball against Dawson County, with a “white-out” theme that will make the stands look like a snowstorm in September. After the game, students will cap off the night with a bonfire at the Old Sidney Sugars South Lot—a perfect way to keep the spirit burning bright.

Eagle Spirit Day, Friday Night Lights, and a Dance to Wrap It All Up

Friday, Sept. 26, is the big one: Eagle Spirit Day! Students could win raffle prizes just for showing up to class, and later everyone will gather at Swanson Field for the varsity football showdown with Dawson County. A tailgate BBQ will be held before kickoff, filling the air with the smell of burgers, hot dogs, and hometown pride.

The week wraps up Saturday, Sept. 27, with 8th grade volleyball in the morning against Williston and Glendive, and of course the long-awaited homecoming dance from 7:00–10:00 pm in the high school gym. Out-of-district guests better have their paperwork in order, because the dance is sure to be the icing on the cake for a week that’s been one for the books.

So here’s to the Sidney Eagles—a week of laughter, rivalry, school spirit, and tons of fun in Montana. Fly high, Eagles, and happy homecoming!
