A Williston metaphysical shop marked a new chapter last week with a rebranding that its owner says reflects both growth and mission.

Formerly known as Midwest Metaphysics, the business officially relaunched Sept. 18 as Sanctum and Stone during a milestone celebration hosted by the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce. The event drew supporters, clients and first-time visitors to the shop at 203 Main St.

“This isn’t just a name change—it’s an expansion of our heart and mission,” owner Alex McCann Johnson said. “Sanctum and Stone better reflects the work we do here—providing grounding and guidance in a world that often feels divided and disconnected.”

Johnson, an energy healer, intuitive, life coach, and Master of Divinity student, said the shop now offers expanded services, including energy healing sessions, spiritual life coaching, yoga classes, belly dancing, weekly sound baths, and vibroacoustic and crystal light therapy. The retail space continues to feature crystals and other metaphysical items.

Guests at the open house toured the redesigned space, participated in demonstrations, and shared stories about how the shop has influenced their spiritual journeys. Johnson said community connection will remain central to the business, which also plans workshops, collaborations with local practitioners, and outreach events.

“The turnout reminded me that we are all here to support one another,” Johnson said. “Healing, community, and love are at the core of what we do.”
