Ray North Dakota Welcomes District 16 Boys Basketball
February continues to be a fun month. The girls' games are wrapping up fast, and now we shift gears to district boys' basketball play. District 16 boys basketball starts on February 24th and runs for three days at Ray High School. This gets us started on the road to see who will play in the regional tournaments, and ultimately move on to state competition in March. Six teams will meet to decide who the District 16 champion will be, and who will advance to the regional tournament.
Six teams make up this hardy bunch of District 16 players including Stanley, Kenmare/Bowbells, Tioga, Powers Lake/Burke Central, Divide County, and Ray
The opening round starts at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 24th with just two games. There will be another day of action on Saturday with two more games starting at 3:00 pm. Monday, February 27th features three more games with the championship game at 7:00 p.m.
There is a daily admission charge for those that attend.
- Adults - $5.00
- Students - $5.00
If you are unable to attend the games, Mike Reuter will have all the games on 660 KEYZ. Titus has a keen eye and calls a great game. He points out that each of the teams matches up fairly well with some stout players, and they also all have great coaches. With the fanbase each has, it should be another fun tournament. Good luck to all participants, and welcome to the postseason!
