NHANES Mobile Health Survey Rolls Into Williston as Part of Nationwide Study

The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, better known as NHANES, has rolled into town. These trucks make up a mobile exam center for the survey, which gathers vital information about the health and nutrition of people living in the United States. Williston—more specifically, the Eastern Montana region—is one of just 20 locations across the country selected to participate this year.

How Do We Know What’s “Healthy”? NHANES Provides the Answers

NHANES helps answer some of the big questions in public health. Ever wonder how doctors know what counts as a “normal” blood pressure? Or how researchers track exposure to things like environmental chemicals? Much of that data comes directly from surveys like NHANES. The information collected plays a key role in shaping national health policies, developing nutrition guidelines, and understanding health trends across the country.

From now through August 17, 2025, a random sample of households in the area will receive letters inviting them to take part. If you get one, consider participating—you’ll be contributing to something that helps improve the health of communities just like ours.

So next time you pass those trucks on 11th Street West, give a little wave. They’re not just parked there—they’re working toward a healthier America, starting right here in Williston.
