The first half of Day three of the 2025 North Dakota AA American Legion Baseball Tournament opened Wednesday morning at Rabon Field with two decisive matchups—one a shutout, the other a tighter contest that hinged on strong defense.

Game 7: Bismarck vs Grand Forks

In the 10 a.m. game, Bismarck got their bats going early and often with a commanding 10-0 win over Grand Forks, which was highlighted by a six-run explosion in the bottom of the second inning. The Governors got on the board in the first inning, capitalizing on a pair of Grand Forks errors. The second inning saw Bismarck rack up six hits, including an RBI single from Tanner Groseclose and a two-run double by Jacoby Grimm. Cooper Miller added another run in the third with a sharp single down the left field line.

On the mound, Nathan Heil delivered two scoreless innings for Bismarck, allowing just one hit. Grand Forks starter Gabe Schauer struggled, surrendering nine runs—only four of them earned—on nine hits across three innings. Offensively, the Royals were limited to two hits, one each from Keegan Hensrud and Matt Dosch.

Bismarck racked up 13 hits in the game. Groseclose led the way, going 3-for-4, while Grimm and Miller each drove in two runs.

Bismarck advances in loser-out play to take on the Williston Keybirds on Thursday at 10:00 am.

Grand Forks has been eliminated from the tournament and finishes 10th.

Game 8: Jamestown Eagles vs Minot Vistas

The 1 p.m. matchup was a tighter affair, with Minot edging out Jamestown 4-2. The Vistas took an early lead in the second thanks to a wild pitch and extended it with a Braden Nelson RBI single in the third. In the fifth, Kellan Burke launched a two-run homer to right, giving Minot the cushion it needed.

Nick Thomas earned the win on the mound, pitching six innings and giving up just three hits and two runs. Tre Stewart secured the save. Jamestown’s Jaxon Kolpin pitched all six innings, allowing four runs while also driving in both of the Eagles’ runs at the plate.

Minot played flawless defense, turning a key double play and committing no errors. Burke and Drew Jordan both collected two hits for the Vistas.

Minot advances to take on Fargo Post 2 in loser-out action on Thursday at 1:00 pm.

Jamestown is eliminated and finishes the state tournament 9th.
