Saturday, December 14, was a heartwarming day for North Dakota communities as First Responders from across the state united for the annual Toy and Food Drive. Held in Bismarck, Mandan, Jamestown, Fargo, and Williston, the event brought together agencies such as the Williams County Sheriff's Office, NDBCI, ND Game & Fish, ND Parks & Recreation, NDDES, and several local police and sheriff's departments, alongside the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

The numbers are in, and the results are nothing short of remarkable! A total of 3,347 toys were donated, along with an overwhelming amount of nonperishable food items—so much that organizers couldn’t keep count. Thanks to the generosity of these communities, children and families in need can look forward to a brighter holiday season.

Here’s how the numbers stack up:
❄️ Bismarck: 920 toys
❄️ Fargo: 520 toys
❄️ Jamestown: 293 toys
❄️ Mandan: 549 toys
Williston: 1,065 toys

Special thanks go to Walmart for hosting the drives at their locations, making it easy for shoppers to join the cause. A huge thank you to Drew and the gang at Williston Auto for helping with the Williston drive, and for inviting Dakota Country to do a live broadcast to promote the event. We had a great day! Any cash donations received during the event were used to purchase even more toys, ensuring that no child is left out this Christmas.

First Responders and organizers are thrilled with the turnout, which showcases the spirit of giving and community pride that North Dakota is known for. It’s safe to say the Grinch won’t be stealing Christmas this year, thanks to the kindhearted efforts of everyone involved.

This event is a shining example of what can be achieved when communities come together, and it sets the tone for a joyful holiday season across the state.
