Two men were killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 1804 in Mountrail County, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 7:55 a.m. roughly five miles east of the Williams County line. The North Dakota Highway Patrol said a 2007 Western Star semi was traveling westbound when a 2015 Chrysler 200 crossed into the westbound lane and began sliding on icy pavement. The semi struck the driver’s side of the car in a T-bone collision.

The driver of the Chrysler, a 21-year-old man from Bismarck, and his passenger, a 44-year-old man from Burnsville, Minnesota, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were wearing seat belts.

The semi driver, a 48-year-old man from Watford City, was not injured and was also wearing a seat belt.

Road conditions were icy at the time of the crash, though weather conditions were dry. The Highway Patrol, Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office, Tioga Fire Department and Tioga Ambulance responded.
