Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) will host a virtual public meeting on September 12 at 6 p.m. to discuss proposed changes to the state’s fishing regulations. The meeting, accessible via Zoom, aims to gather input and answer questions from the public.

Fishing regulations, revised every two years, are currently open for public comment until September 19. These proposals were shaped after a series of scoping meetings held across the state this summer, during which FWP staff engaged with the public to understand desired changes and share their own ideas for adjustments.

After the public comment period ends, the Fish and Wildlife Commission will review the proposals and may suggest additional amendments. These amendments will also be subject to public feedback before the final regulations are adopted at the commission’s October 10 meeting.
