McKenzie County Sheriff’s Deputy Faces DUI Arrest In Bismarck

A McKenzie County sheriff’s deputy has been fired after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence while attending training in Bismarck, according to a statement released by the sheriff’s office.

The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office said it was notified early Monday, June 15, 2026, that Deputy Jared Drake had been arrested for DUI. Drake was in Bismarck to attend the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy at the time of the incident and was driving a county-issued vehicle when he was taken into custody.

Officials said the arrest constituted a violation of agency policy and professional standards, resulting in Drake’s immediate termination.

The sheriff’s office did not release additional details about the circumstances of the arrest, including whether anyone was injured or if formal charges have been filed.

In a statement posted to Facebook Monday evening, the department acknowledged the seriousness of the incident and emphasized its commitment to accountability.
