We are into Fall and spooky season, and you can't help but give in to the urge to get fall-flavored coffee drinks, go to Spirit Halloween and look at the new costumes, and even visit our North Dakota pumpkin patches with your family.

Every year, there is a competition in North Dakota in Walhalla. Many local farmers try to earn the title of "North Dakota's Biggest Pumpkin."

Over the years, we've had some massive pumpkins. We haven't broken the pumpkin record since 2018. According to PumpkinFanatic.com, that year we had the largest pumpkin weighing in at 1921.5 pounds. A North Dakota farmer named Kent Carrier certainly seems to have a green thumb.

As a matter of fact, 2018 wasn't the only time he set a state record. In 2020, he received the second-largest pumpkin title for a pumpkin that weighed 1806.5 pounds. Can you imagine trying to move that thing?

According to a post made on the All-Seasons Farmer Facebook page, a new North Dakota state record was just set days ago at Walhalla's 21st Annual Pumpkinfest. The winning pumpkin weighed in at 2017 pounds. The growers are a couple from Grafton, North Dakota.

What do you even do with a pumpkin that big? I suppose you can make a ridiculous amount of pumpkin pie, but my vote goes to carving an enormous jack-o-lantern. How cool would that be? I mean, sure, it would take quite a bit of muscle, and you'd end up with a lot of goop, but it would be pretty sweet.

Congratulations to the growers of this massive pumpkin, and don't forget to paint yours pink! Throughout the entire month of October, we're asking you to paint your pumpkins PINK to help us raise money for the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. Just upload your pictures to our app, and we'll donate $2 for each one.

Here's a little inspiration from last year's entries.
