They totally rocked it! Alongside many other talented studios from the region, Kay Michael Lee Studio sent 15 incredible dancers to showcase their skills at the Chester Fritz Auditorium over three days.

The dancers competed in multiple solos, duos, and group routines spanning jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, and tap. And they didn't just leave with dance excellence awards; they also bagged the coveted "Spirit Award"!

Yep, that's right – their amazing attitude and team spirit earned them this special recognition. And this isn't their first time – they won it before at the Triple S Competition in 2020 and even scored a similar award back in 2017 at the Celebration Talent Competition in Bismarck, ND.

But wait, there's more! At this competition, their routines snagged numerous first, second, and third-place finishes, not to mention some overall high scores. Ainsley Hart and Renly Hart wowed the judges with their lyrical routine to “Hand to Hold,” landing First Place Overall Single S Duo/Trio. And Brooklyn Crouch and Mackenzie Locken, grabbed 2nd Place Double S Senior Jazz Duo/Trio with their routine to “Love Shack.”

The list goes on: the musical theatre routine by the Competition Company scored 2nd Place Double S Pre-Teen Large Group, Kambree McIvor's jazz solo to “Glam” took home 2nd Place Double S Junior Solo, and their group routine to “Let’s Get Loud” clinched 3rd Place Single S Small Group, just to name a few.

But it doesn't end there – the judges also gave out special recognition awards for standout features like costume, musicality, and presentation. Kay Michael Lee Studio scored big with five of these judge’s choice awards!

The Competition Company at Kay Michael Lee Studio is on fire this season, with 15 talented dancers aged 5-18 and choreography by Sarah Johnson, Abby Powell, and Renae Evenson. They've been grinding since August, gearing up for competitions across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana.

This is the first competition for the studio this season; they are headed to Rapid City, SD for their next competition, Celebration Talent Competition, the weekend of March 1-3.
