Two Men Sustain Life-Threatening Injuries in McKenzie County Fire
On the evening of July 7, 2024, a residential fire north of Arnegard, North Dakota, left two males with life-threatening injuries. The McKenzie County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident at approximately 7:37 PM (CDT), finding the residence fully engulfed in flames.
The reporting parties indicated that two individuals had suffered significant burns, while three other family members managed to escape without injuries. Upon arrival, deputies identified the injured as Dustin Ceynar, 48, and Clay Ceynar, 19. Both were initially transported by ambulance to McKenzie County Hospital before being flown to an outside medical facility for further life-saving treatment.
The fire is currently under investigation by the McKenzie County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division, with assistance from the North Dakota Fire Marshal's Office, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NDBCI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
The swift response from multiple fire departments, including the Arnegard Fire Protection District, McKenzie County Fire Department, Keene Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Alexander Fire Department, and Twin Valley Fire Department, along with the McKenzie County Ambulance, was crucial in combating the fire and providing aid to the injured.
The McKenzie County Sheriff's Office expressed their gratitude to these emergency services and extended their thoughts and prayers to the Ceynar family during this difficult time.
