Over the weekend, devastating fires tore through western North Dakota, leaving many families displaced and in need of immediate assistance. As the dust settles, two key organizations have stepped up, utilizing social media to request donations for those affected by the fires.

The response has been swift, but there's still much that can be done to support these communities during this difficult time.

Local Groups Accepting Donations

Two primary organizations are spearheading relief efforts: The Clothes Closet and the Tioga Community Center. Both are collecting donations to help victims in Tioga, Ray, Epping, and Watford City. These efforts are crucial in providing immediate relief to families who have lost homes or belongings.

Drop-off Locations:

In Tioga:

Items Needed

While many items are needed, certain supplies are in high demand. Donating any of the following will greatly aid the recovery efforts:

  • Air Purifiers/Ozone Machines
  • Spray Bottles, Dawn Dish Soap, Rubber Gloves
  • Heavy-Duty Laundry Detergents, Odor Fighters, and Scent Beads
  • Vinegar, Bleach, Lemon Juice, Baking Soda
  • Personal Hygiene Items (Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Deodorant, etc.)
  • First Aid Supplies (Tylenol, Band-Aids, Neosporin)
  • Non-perishable Foods (Canned/Boxed Foods)
  • Household Goods (Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Pots & Pans, Linens)
  • Toys for children
