Fatal Crash Near Williston ND Kills One
A tragic single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 1804 near mile marker 310, approximately seven miles east of Williston, on December 13, 2024, at 6:42 AM CT. The crash involved a 2011 Ford F-150 driven by a 66-year-old man from Williston, ND.
Preliminary reports from the North Dakota Highway Patrol indicate that the vehicle was traveling westbound when it veered off the roadway, entering the north ditch. The truck vaulted over a field approach before coming to rest upright.
Emergency response agencies, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Ambulance, and Williston Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. Despite the driver’s transport to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Williston and subsequent transfer to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, he succumbed to his injuries on December 16, 2024.
Authorities noted that road and weather conditions at the time of the crash were favorable, with clear skies and dry pavement. However, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, which may have contributed to the severity of his injuries.
The name of the deceased will be released pending notification of the next of kin. The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
