Williston's Free Back To School BBQ At Davidson Park

Summer vacation may be winding down, but there is still time for one more fun family celebration before the school bells ring.

Williston Community Builders is inviting kids and families from across the community to a free Back to School BBQ on Tuesday, August 18 (tomorrow), at Davidson Park. The event gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and is designed to give local families a chance to enjoy some food, games, and fun while getting ready for another school year.

Free Food, Games and Giveaways for the Whole Family

There is no cost to attend, and families are encouraged to simply bring the kids, come hungry and enjoy the evening.

The Back to School BBQ will feature free food, popsicles, games, school supplies as prizes, bike and scooter giveaways, and more. With plenty of activities planned for kids, organizers hope the event provides a little extra excitement as summer comes to an end and the new school year begins.

For many families, back-to-school season can bring a mixture of excitement and nerves. New teachers, new classrooms, new school supplies and earlier mornings are all just around the corner. Events like this give kids an opportunity to enjoy some time with friends and neighbors before settling into their school routines.

A Community Effort to Help Local Kids Start the School Year Right

Williston Community Builders says the event is also about giving back to the community and helping local children start the school year on a positive note.

A special thank-you goes out to the American Legion, Edgar M. Boyd Post 37, for helping make the event possible. The organization generously purchased the school supplies, provided the burgers and hot dogs, and is donating its time and talents to help keep everyone fed during the BBQ.

The Back to School BBQ is free, family friendly and open to the entire community.

So, before the backpacks are packed away and the alarm clocks are set a little earlier, grab the kids and head to Davidson Park Tuesday evening. There will be good food, games, giveaways and plenty of reasons to celebrate the start of another school year in Williston.
