Enhanced Security Measures at the North Dakota State Fair
The North Dakota State Fair is set to begin soon, promising excitement and entertainment for all attendees. However, visitors will notice a significant change in security procedures this year. KX News reported that metal detectors have been added at every gate entrance to ensure the safety of all fairgoers.
For the first time, attendees will need to walk through these detectors before entering the fairgrounds. These specially designed metal detectors are more convenient than those typically found at airports. Visitors will not need to remove belts or take cell phones out of their pockets, as the detectors are tailored to identify weapons or dangerous objects only.
This enhanced security measure comes after last year's record-breaking attendance, which saw 356,000 people enjoy the fair. Craig Rudland, the general manager of the North Dakota State Fair, emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and comfort of all guests. "We want to make sure that our guests have that extra level of security and feel comfortable on the fairgrounds," said Rudland. "We believe people will appreciate the added safety measures."
In addition to the gate entrances, metal detectors will also be placed at the Grandstand entrances, providing an extra layer of security for concertgoers. This move reflects a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
As fairgoers prepare to enjoy the festivities, the introduction of these metal detectors highlights the fair's commitment to safety. With these measures in place, attendees can look forward to a secure and fun-filled experience at the North Dakota State Fair. The fair runs July 19–27 in Minot.
