The City of Williston has released information and is inviting residents to take part in its annual Clean Williston event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon.

The cleanup, held each spring and fall for over the past two decades, encourages everyone to help beautify the city by clearing litter and debris.

“Clean Williston is an event that brings our community together and benefits all residents,” said Marc Mohr, the city’s Streets and Refuse Superintendent.

Mayor Howard Klug emphasized the importance of the event, noting, “This not only helps the City of Williston, but it helps yourself. Williston is our hometown, and we want people to see that we’re proud of what we’ve built here.”

Volunteers can register in advance for one of 40 zones at bit.ly/CleanWilliston or sign up on the day of the event at Williston Public Works, located at 1121 5th Street East.

Volunteers will receive safety vests, gloves, and garbage bags, as well as a light breakfast and ice cream provided courtesy of Chamley’s Pipe and Salvage and Suzie Q’s Ice Cream Truck.

Those who sign up in advance will also receive a free Clean Williston t-shirt while supplies last.

Disposal and recycling services at Public Works will also be accepting:

Wood: Containers will be available to accept trees and construction materials.

Metal: Pacific Steel and Recycling will have a bin for metal recycling; however, larger items must be taken directly to a recycling facility.

Tires: Tires will be limited to tires per person, which will be shredded for free by Chamley Pipe and Salvage.

Recyclables: A Recycle Center Trailer will be accepting flattened cardboard, loose tin and aluminum cans, as well as non-shredded white paper.

Should the weather not cooperate during the day of the event, it will be rescheduled for May 3, with updates shared on the city’s website and official City of Williston social media.
