Chip Seal Work Begins June 23 in Williston North Dakota: What You Need to Know
Williston residents, get ready for a bit of a bump in your commute—but just for a few days. Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp (ASTECH) will begin chip sealing operations on Monday, June 23, 2025, as part of the City of Williston’s 2025 Chip Seal Project. While the work will cause some temporary disruptions, the good news is it’s expected to be completed quickly—by the afternoon of Wednesday, June 25, weather permitting.
The chip seal process is a routine maintenance effort designed to extend the life of city streets by sealing small cracks and creating a more durable surface. It also improves driving conditions and reduces long-term maintenance costs.

The project will affect several key areas in town, including:
East Broadway from 2nd Avenue East to University Avenue East
2nd Avenue West from 11th Street West to 2nd Street West
9th Avenue West from 14th Street West to 18th Street West
14th Street West from 9th Avenue West to 6th Avenue West
West Jackson Place from Park Place to 14th Street West
9th Avenue East
13th Avenue East from 26th Street East to 42nd Street East
Clear the Way: Vehicles Must Be Moved 48 Hours Before Road Work Begins
To ensure work can move forward efficiently, no parking signs will be posted 48 hours in advance of the work. All vehicles, trailers, motorcycles, and any other items must be cleared from the roadway before construction begins. Any vehicles left behind may be towed to avoid delays.

Avoid Construction Zones Until Work Is Complete and Signs Are Removed
Residents are asked to avoid the designated construction areas during the project period. Once the work wraps up and no parking signs are removed, normal street parking can resume.
This short-term inconvenience will help maintain smooth and safe roads for the long run. The City of Williston thanks you for your patience and cooperation as they work to keep our streets in good shape.
