West Fargo, ND (KEYZ/KFGO) A Carrington police chief has been identified as the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash on I-94 in West Fargo Tuesday night.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports 36-year-old Brandon Sola was thrown from his motorcycle, which came to rest on the median shoulder of westbound I-94; he died at the scene. Sola was not wearing a helmet.

He was appointed Carrington police chief in April after joining the department as a part-time officer.  He was a native of Velva, North Dakota and leaves behind a wife and five children.

Sola was also a Master Sergeant with the Air National Guard in Fargo; he had been a member of the 119th Wing since 2003.
