Body Found North Of Williston Officially Identified

Williston, ND (KEYZ) - A body discovered north of Williston late last week has been confirmed as that of Leonard Higdon.

On October 28, Williams County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a body in a field.   Dental records confirmed to be that of Higdon, who had previously been a suspect in a September 29 attempted murder investigation in the city of Williston.  The cause of death has been ruled as a suicide.   Higdon fled the scene of what was first described as a domestic violence incident involving two female victims, which was later classified as an attempted murder.

The investigation is continuing by the Williams County Sheriff’s Office.
